Nala, it is quite possibly the worst addon ever. It assigns a value to each piece of gear you have and then totals it to give you a "gear score". People have started formed groups (heroic pugs included) demanding that each member have a certain (ridiculously high) gear score. It has zero bearing on whether a person can actually play since anyone and everyone can get the top level gear with only a minimal amount of persistence.

And god, those trinkets and gems are terribad... But it is an effective way to circumvent gearscore.
